Position Summary: An Environmental Services Technician plays a vital role to ensure every patient, family member, and staff person has a clean, safe, and sanitized environment for exceptional patient care. The EVS Tech is responsible for janitorial duties, which include cleaning and disinfecting all assigned areas of the hospital and providing a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Job Duties: - Dusts furniture, woodwork, and equipment. - Polishes and cleans fixtures in utility rooms and bathrooms. - Operates mechanical floor cleaners, polishers, and vacuums. - Wet mops rooms, halls, stairways, and public areas. - Shampoos rugs and furniture. - Cleans vents, fans and other equipment using vacuum machines or appropriate tools. - Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials. - Buffs, strips, waxes and polishes floors. Removes waste and soiled linens from work area and places in specified bags or containers. - Performs terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares room for new occupant Follows isolation procedures in isolation rooms. - Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls of bathrooms. - Participates in educational programs and in service meetings. The ideal candidate possesses excellent customer service, is self-motivated, and is a team player. Monday - Friday Day Shifts with rotating Saturdays. Education: High school diploma or Equivalent is preferred.
