Job Summary: The Dietary Cook role is a specialized culinary position that combines high-volume meal production with clinical nutritional standards. The role focuses on three primary pillars: precision cooking, operational safety, and team collaboration. Key Responsibilities: Clinical Meal Production: Prepares, seasons, and cooks meals for patients, staff, and visitors. A critical component is ensuring tray accuracy—matching meals to specific medical diets while maintaining high standards for taste, temperature, and appearance. Strategic Planning: Coordinates complex cooking schedules to ensure punctuality. The cook is responsible for managing inventory, reducing food waste, and "troubleshooting" shortages by creating recipes for items nearing expiration. Safety & Compliance: Maintains a "survey-ready" kitchen by following strict sanitation protocols, labeling and rotating stock (FIFO), and performing equipment checks. This includes wearing proper PPE and reporting defective tools or spoiled food immediately. Event & Team Support: Collaborates with the Dietician and Management to execute special events (catered meetings, themed holiday menus). The role also involves "patient rounding" to gather direct feedback on food quality. Job Qualifications: Experience: Sufficient previous experience preferred but on-the-job training provided Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
